Review: Equilibrium

I love The Matrix!

Equilibrium is a very good film. There's the action, there's the setting, there's the story and the characters... they are all fantastically well realized and in many ways better than some of the films people claim it has copied from. It's a fully enjoyable film, not too long and not too short, and is absolutely worth a watch. 8 Keanu's out of 10.

Review: Moon

Working on the moon is tiring work, why don't you take a seat Sam?

Directors Father

Moon is a film about a moon base, with only one worker. Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell). And with his Computer companion GERTY (Kevin Spacey) they work to harvest the moons supply of energy. While he is there though, he has a little, accident. Which leads him to discover a few things about the base, leading to a confrontation with something familiar. I totally Loved this film, the acting by Sam Rockwell was absolutely immense, and quite emotional as I almost cried at one point. I give this 8/10 David Bowies (you'll get it)

Review: The Expendables

"I heard you were making an action movie?"

The Expendables is probably the best pure action film released in 2010. Why wouldn't it be? The all star cast and all out action make it a must see, even if it's not exactly a great and memorable film. I'd recommend you watch this just on the principle of what it is as a statement, just like Avatar from the previous year, it should be watched no matter how bad you think it's going to be. 7 skulls out of 10.

Review: 2001: A Space Odyssey

The greatest scene in film history.

This is a film that cannot be defined with a single word. But if I had to try, I think i'd go with 'Monumental'. There is absolutely no excuse to not watch this film. Ahead of it's time by decades, why do we have stupid films like Avatar when a film about 100 times more intellectually mature and massive in scale was created 40 years ago? I'll leave that one to you. 10 monoliths out of 10.

Review: I am Number Four

"This is my power? Flashlight Hands? Damn!"

The film is about an extraordinary young teenager named John (Alex Pettyfer) who with his Guardian Henri (Timothy Olyphant) must hide his secret from the people who seek to destroy him. This film overall was quite Ok, the action scenes did have to make up for the pretty weak story, which they did a pretty decent job at. I give this 6/10 4s.

Review: The Town

Indie police force.

The Town was possibly my favourite film of 2010. I simply found that it's story and directing were all tight and it all fitted together perfectly, with great acting from the entire cast. It was a pretty unique take on heist films, and combined The Departed's boston gangster action style with Heat's amazing shootout and robbery sequences. This film gets 9 dollars out of 10.
